Deloitte is set to introduce a generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot named “PairD” to a broad audience of 75,000 employees across Europe and the Middle East. Initially launched in the United Kingdom in October, this internal tool is specifically designed to revolutionize various aspects of employee tasks, ranging from creating impactful PowerPoint presentations to crafting emails and even generating code. The move is part of a broader trend within professional services firms to embrace AI solutions, a phenomenon observed across the industry.

Unlike some of its counterparts, Deloitte has taken a unique approach by developing its AI chatbot in-house through its AI institute, rather than partnering with external market players such as OpenAI or Harvey. This strategic decision underscores the firm’s commitment to cultivating and leveraging its internal expertise in the realm of artificial intelligence.

However, despite the evident strides in AI technology, there remains a cautionary note associated with its use. Employees have been advised that the AI chatbot, while a powerful tool, may occasionally generate information that could be inaccurate concerning people, places, or facts. To prepare employees for the integration of this innovative AI tool, Deloitte has implemented a training module that must be completed before accessing “PairD.” This training underscores the firm’s commitment to ensuring that its staff can effectively and safely leverage the capabilities of the AI chatbot.

In a noteworthy gesture, Deloitte has also announced that it will provide free access to “PairD” for the UK disability charity Scope, showcasing a commitment to inclusivity and making AI tools more accessible for various user groups.
